PRODUCT DETAILS
Dating from 1860 these richly coloured prints by Benjamin Fawcett were comissioned by the famous ornithologist Charles Robert Bree (1811-1886). He specifically sought out Fawcett for his phenomenal reputation for wood block printing and careful colour production which contemporaries believed to be second to none. Hand-coloured, this quartet of ducks are extremely good quality illustrations, on fine cream stock paper and framed in a classic moulding to bring out the colours to best effect.
