Twenty illustrations of birds' nests with their egg

These stunning hand coloured prints feature an example of a species nest and egg. They are intricately observed and are in fact hard to take your eyes off when you begin to notice the care with which the twigs, feathers and moss have been recorded. The British parson-naturalist Reverend Morris recorded these in conjunction with Benjamin Fawcett whose skill in colour printing in the nineteenth century was unrivalled. 

Their peaceful colours and cosy subject matter make them a good choice for a bedroom perhaps. 

To compliment the delicacy of the drawings and the aquamarine colours they have been framed in an engraved faux verdigris moulding which gives texture and balance to the whole.
